The Pink Berets Announces Historic Goal: 100 Women Veterans to March in NYC Veterans Day Parade

National nonprofit calls on women warriors across America to stand together in an unprecedented show of strength

The Pink Berets, a Texas-based and nationally recognized nonprofit supporting women veterans and survivors of military sexual trauma, has set a historic goal: to march with 100 women veterans in this year’s New York City Veterans Day Parade. This will be the largest unified representation of women warriors in the parade’s history.

“For too long, women veterans have been invisible,” said Stephanie, CEO of The Pink Berets and decorated Navy veteran. “This march isn’t just about visibility, it’s about telling America that we served, we sacrificed, and we deserve to be seen, heard, and honored. We’re calling on women veterans from every branch, every era, and every corner of the country to stand with us.”

The Pink Berets is actively recruiting women veterans from all military branches and service eras to join this historic march. Women veterans face unique challenges, including higher rates of PTSD and military sexual trauma, limited access to gender-specific healthcare, social isolation, and disproportionate rates of homelessness and unemployment. “Every woman who marches with us sends a message to thousands of women veterans struggling in silence: you are not alone, you are valued, and you have a community that stands with you,” Stephanie added.

The march is more than a symbolic gesture; it is part of a larger mission to amplify women veterans’ voices and create lasting change. The Pink Berets provides trauma-informed peer support through its Women Veterans Peer Support Networks, leadership development through the BLOOM Women’s Leadership Program, career and therapeutic opportunities through the Veterans Culinary Therapy Program, and advocates for policy reform on Capitol Hill to address the unique needs of women veterans.
