An annual celebration of books, authors and literacy in San Antonio.
Founded by April Monterrosa, the Southside Book Fair brings readers, writers and families together while creating a platform for local and regional authors to share their work and connect directly with the community.
Held annually, the free, family-friendly event celebrates reading and storytelling through author meet-and-greets, book sales, readings, conversations and activities for readers of different ages. Each year brings a new group of participating authors and community connections.
Visitors can:

- Discover and purchase books
- Hear directly from writers about their work and experiences
- Connect with readers, families and the San Antonio literary community
- Support literacy and youth education initiatives
The Southside Book Fair is part of Live From The Southside’s ongoing commitment to literacy, youth opportunities and community storytelling. Proceeds and support connected to the fair help strengthen LFTSS literacy and youth education initiatives.
