Live from the Southside is a Southside San Antonio, Texas-based women-owned lifestyle and travel publication and platform. We cover diverse topics, including business, events, education, wellness, and non-profit organizations.

Launched in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, initially, we began highlighting the vibrant, diverse culture and people of Southside San Antonio. With a steadily growing and influential audience, Live from the Southside attracted some of the most engaged and active individuals, connecting our San Antonio community to a national audience to improve and expand community relationships.

Our readers always seek new opportunities and adventures, making our platform the perfect avenue for businesses, organizations, and individuals to connect with this motivated audience and forge lasting relationships. 85% of our readership resides in Texas, 55% are men, and 45% are women from ages 18-65 years old.

Our mission is clear: Through the power of storytelling, we bring you inspiring narratives that shine a spotlight on individuals and enterprises making a real difference in the city of San Antonio, as well as captivating tales from across Texas and the entire nation.

April Monterrosa is an author, speaker, radio personality at KLMO 98.9 FM, business mentor, and community advocate based in San Antonio, Texas. She is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Live From The Southside Magazine, the first Latina-owned publication in Southside San Antonio. She serves on multiple boards, including Brooks Gives Back, The Boardroom Project, San Antonio Women’s Business Center, The Pink Berets, San Antonio Water System’s Community Experience Committee, the Palo Alto College Cosmetology Committee, the San Antonio District 3 & 4 Small Business Committee, the VIDA Arts Council, and is the chairwoman for Mitchell Lake Audubon Center. She is also a business mentor for the City of San Antonio and Alamo Colleges Mentor Protégé Program.

April’s impressive achievements have earned her recognition as an influential Latina in San Antonio by KSAT12 News. Her publication, Live from the Southside, has partnered with KSAT12 and the local TV show SA Live to elevate community voices and news coverage of her Southside community. She was also honored by the 87th Texas Legislature for her achievements as a civic leader and community advocate.
