Honoring the stories, leadership and impact of Latinas shaping San Antonio.
San Antonio Latina Legacy is a signature storytelling section of Live From The Southside Magazine, founded by April Monterrosa, an award-winning entrepreneur, author and publisher, and Irene Chavez, a playwright, poet, actor and community advocate. Together, they created San Antonio Latina Legacy to elevate, document and preserve the voices of Latina women while recognizing the leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, public servants, community advocates and trailblazers contributing to San Antonio’s cultural, civic and business landscape.
The section also celebrates next-generation Latinas who are beginning these paths early, young women developing their voices, talents, leadership and community impact while building the legacies they will carry forward. Across generations, these stories are preserved and shared through Live From The Southside’s print, digital, newsletter and social platforms, connecting their experiences with readers in San Antonio, across Texas and nationally.
