The opening of 23 outdoor pools kicks off the City’s regular pool season, that will continue until mid-August. Eleven pre-season collections opened on May 20, 2023, with weekend hours. Select extended-season pools will remain open into September. Once construction is completed, the Roosevelt Park pool is anticipated to open later this summer. The San Antonio Natatorium (1430 Cesar E. Chavez), a public indoor pool facility, remains open year-round.

“Our City’s outdoor pools and splash pads are a great way for our community to stay cool this summer,” said Director of Parks and Recreation, Homer Garcia III. “We have a fun summer pool season planned with Movies in the Pool, Wibit inflatable obstacle courses, group swim lessons, and aqua fitness classes – all free.” For outdoor pool and splash pad locations and hours, pool eventsswimming lessons, and aquatic fitness classes visit saparksandrec.com.

In addition to the City’s pools, Parks and Recreation has partnered with North East ISD and Thousand Oaks Family YMCA to offer free Community Swim Days on select days.
