35 South Jam with Southside Musical Artists

Coming to Brooster’s Backyard Icehouse at 815 Pleasanton Rd., on January 22, 2022 is the first of it’s kind, acoustic jam session! Five local artists will be jamming out in this one of a kind concert.

Mario Moreno

Country Music Singer/Songwriter Mario Moreno was born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio and a graduate of McCollum High School, Class of 1996.  Coming from a musical family, Mario started singing at the age of 9 years old with his influences stemming from his father, Mario Moreno Sr.

Growing up on the Southside, he was also influenced by watching his fellow McCollum alumni, Emilio Navaira, and Ram Herrera as well as other influences to include Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and of course George Strait.

Starting his band in 2010, he’s performed in and around the South Texas region, including the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and the Y100 Morning Show.  Staying true to the country roots sound and a love for writing his own songs that is what lead him to recording a few of his own.

Lydia Castillo

Lydia Castillo is a Female Latin Vocalist and Songwriter. She was born and raised in the South Side of San Antonio, TX and graduated from McCollum high school. Lydia has been in the music business since the age of 16 at the age of 20 she decided to take a break. Lydia has always had a great passion and love for music. After taking a few years off she has returned to the music industry with more passion than ever. With a very Unique and Strong Voice Lydia has captured the heart of many fans.

Lydia has worked with many Award winning Tejano Music Producers like Hugo Guerrero who produced 4 of her songs including the most recent song MENTIRAS which was written by the Award winner Humberto “Beto” Ramon. She also worked with Grammy Award Winners Chente Barrera and Mario Ortiz recording some of the songs in her recently released album entitled MI PASADO (MY PAST).

Lydia also has a talent for writing songs and has written 3 of her original songs. She is now beginning to write songs for other Tejano artist. She is looking forward to Start working on her next Album in 2022 which will be produced entirely by The Talented Hugo Guerrero better known for his hit song CHARANGA and band Director Joel (Joey) Rodriguez.

She believes Music is food for the soul. Her favorite quote “Sometimes you can not talk about your problems or pain but through music you can heal”. Through out her life she has used music to heal her from the tragedies she has gone through and she wants to do the same for others.

Lydia is currently sharing the stage w Hugo Guerrero and is looking forward to a New Journey in 2022 where she will be touring with the legend Oscar G Gonzales formal lead singer to David Lee Garza y Los Musicales. Nate Deleon is a 24 year old Independent Texas Singer Songwriter who has quickly gained traction in the local music scene. He went from singing in his room just a few years ago to playing bucket list venues. The future looks bright for this young singer songwriter. Raised in Natalia, Texas, Nate’s love for music has always been apart of his life. Brought up in a family of musicians, he quickly learned the guitar at a young age. It wasn’t until the summer of 2019 when he fell in love with the art of songwriting.

It was Songwriters Circle at Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, Texas where Nate began to write his own songs and pursue his music career. Since 2019, he has gone on to play notable venues such as Cheatham Street Warehouse, Floore’s Country Store, and Nutty Brown Amphitheater. Nate had the opportunity to be an opening act for one of his biggest influences in his music, Randy Rogers, in the summer of 2021. Other musical influences range from Parker McCollum, Glen Frey, Gary Allan, The Goo Goo Dolls and Dan Layus.

While he has yet to release music of his own, his music can be best described as “Raw, honest songwriting with a Texas Country sound and splash of Americana melodies.” Be on the look out to hear his sound for yourself as he plans to release his first single, titled “Houston” in early 2022.

Trisdon Federic

Singer songwriter Trisdon Federic was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Trisdon began playing music through his middle school Mariachi Band, under the direction of once Tejano singer, “Esmeralda Jaime”, is where he learned to play guitar. Though, playing within his school band, this was only a hobby for him, Trisdon’s true love was Football. He had been playing Football since he was 4-years old and had dreams of playing college football and on to the NFL. Things were looking up for Trisdon in high school, he earned a spot as the starting Center in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, which opened doors for recruitment at the College Level, earning him the opportunity to commit to play at Texas Lutheran University in near by Seguin, Texas. During his time in Seguin, music really prevailed in Trisdon’s life. Due to some injuries for the first time ever Trisdon was faced with the question, “Do I continue to play the game I’ve played for 14-years of my life, or do I chase my new found music dream?” And that’s just what he did, he left school to focus on music full-time.
So far Trisdon has released 4-singles, “You, Beach Vibes, 84 Old Ford, and Livin’ Up” respectively.
His biggest success has come from “84 Old Ford” and “Beach Vibes”, where “84 Old Ford” earned a top 50 placement on Billboards Texas Country Chart. As for “Beach Vibes”, it landed in the top 75 for Billboards Texas Country Chart, earned numerous #1’s across radio stations along the Gulf Coast, and earned Trisdon’s first award nomination for Best Song Collaboration for the International Red Carpet Awards in Europe. With the title track of the new EP “Livin’ up”, already released it gives his fans a little taste of what is to come with his new music. Showing his style of country music from some of his hero’s all the way from Cody Johnson to John Mayer, combined with his smooth vocals the sky is the limit for this young artist.

Justin Gallegos 

Justin Gallegos is an 18 year old Texas country singer/songwriter from the Southside of San Antonio. He is a McCollum High School 2021 graduate and currently a student and baseball player at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. He started singing in 2019 and made his first on-stage appearance at the San Antonio Rodeo BBQ Cook off, which inspired him to learn how to play the guitar and start his musical journey. Justin performs at local restaurants and bars in San Antonio and throughout Texas. He credits his mom as his biggest supporter, who unfortunately passed away in June of 2020. His musical inspirations include George Strait, Cody Johnson and Parker McCollum.
