You know what the best thing to do is after a long day at work? Take a peaceful nature walk. Yesterday after my long day of work and having tons on my mind, I took a drive to The Greenline at Brooks for some fresh air and a nature walk; I took my camera of course. The new park is a perfect little place of Zen; I picked a great time to go as the sun was setting. There were people walking along the ponds, biking and jogging on the trails, and kids playing on the playground. Lots of smiles to see.Being an art lover, I really liked the art pieces displayed at the park. It made you feel as if you were in a fairy-tale. Greenline is a nice place for a picnic and a family gathering as it has 23 picnic tables and 4 pavilions that can be rented. Pavilion hours are from 9 am to 10 pm daily; weekdays are free and on a first-come, first-served basis. (Friday-Sunday are subject to fees and taxes.) The park is family, pet, and fitness friendly with its fitness stations, two on site restrooms, and ping pong and foosball tables, outdoor chess and gaga pit.
Mark your calendars and join the Greenline Experience festival on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 2532 Sidney Brooks. The festival will feature live music and fun outdoor activities. To kick off the event, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. followed by family-friendly programming from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Greenline has a food truck court that can have up to five trucks. The food truck court is brand new and features crushed granite surface, electrical hookups, nearby seating, open lawn area, and free trash disposal. The lush park has paved running areas and lovely place to host run. If you are interested in becoming a Brooks food truck court partner or planning a 5k, contact events@livebrooks.com for more info on making that happen.
