Putting more books within reach of children and families.
The Live From The Southside Little Library Literacy Initiative helps expand access to books by placing small take-one, leave-one libraries at businesses, organizations and neighborhood locations in San Antonio’s Southside communities.
Easy access to books gives children more opportunities to read outside the classroom and gives families another way to discover and share books close to home. Each Little Library serves as a neighborhood resource where community members can take a book, leave a book or donate books for others to enjoy.
The initiative supports:
- Greater access to free books and reading materials
- Literacy and learning outside the classroom
- Neighborhood participation and book sharing
- Community partnerships that support young readers
Businesses, organizations and community partners can help by hosting a Little Library, donating books, sponsoring a library or supporting installation and maintenance. Together, these partnerships can place more books where children and families can easily reach them.
