East Central ISD Celebrates Opening of Valor Middle School College and Career Preparatory Academy

East Central ISD celebrated the opening of Valor Middle School College and Career Preparatory Academy with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking a major milestone made possible through the voter-approved 2022 Bond.

The new campus will welcome students in grades 6-8 for the 2026-2027 school year and was built to help address enrollment growth and overcrowding at the district’s existing middle schools.

“This day comes after six years of effort,” said Superintendent Roland Toscano. “Today, we’re able to relieve overcrowding with a beautiful campus designed specifically to meet the needs of our students, families, and staff.”

Designed as a college- and career-preparatory academy, Valor will provide honors-level coursework for all students, AVID strategies, research-based instruction, college-readiness experiences, and family engagement opportunities.

Toscano said the campus also serves as a model for future district facilities, helping East Central ISD maximize efficiency while continuing to deliver high-quality learning environments.

Board President Monique Presas credited the community for making the project possible.

“None of this happens without the support of our community,” Presas said. “Your belief in our vision and investment in our future made this campus possible.”

The campus builds on a successful pilot program launched during the 2025-2026 school year and will serve students residing within the Valor attendance zone beginning this fall.

The celebration concluded with incoming students running through the ceremonial ribbon, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for East Central ISD and the students who will call Valor home for years to come.
