There’s a new coffee house on the Southside of San Antonio. It’s located at 9427 Poteet Jourdanton Fwy, Suite 1, San Antonio, Texas 78211 just down the street from Palo Alto College and a few minutes away from Texas A&M University San Antonio.
Cultura is owned by local Southside San Antonio residents Rose Marie & Anthony Benavides. The mother and son duo from the Palo Alto area decided to bring their love of coffee to their neighborhood and had their official soft opening at 6AM on December 2, 2020.
The Benavides’ Southside roots run deep as they are graduates of Harlandale, South San, & Southwest High Schools, grew up in the Southside community, and continue to reside their till this day. Anthony is also a Texas A&M University San Antonio graduate with a master’s degree in Special Education and Rose Maria is retired from Lackland Air Force Base.
The coffee house menu consists of items such as horchata lattes, mazapan lattes, pastries, and your original coffee favorites like espressos, cappuccinos, iced lattes, hot cocoa, and cold brews. 
“I wanted to open up the coffee house because coffee brings back the most memorable moments of and with my family”, says Anthony. He also mentions that he hopes Cultura coffee house brings a warm, positive place for his Southside community to hang out at and wanting to display the work of local artists.

Cultura will be offering Palo Alto College and Texas A&M University San Antonio students a 10% off discount on all coffees with a student ID. Hours of operation are: Monday-Sunday 6am-6pm. Please continue to abide by COVID-19 rules and wear your mask.
