Soarion Credit Union Awards $25,000 in Scholarships to Five San Antonio High School Students

Soarion Credit Union has proudly announced the winners of its 2025 Scholarship Program, selecting five exceptional high school students from the San Antonio area to receive $5,000 each toward their college education. The funds can be used for tuition and fees, dorm expenses, computers, and other essential supplies.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

  • Kayanna Brownlee – John Paul Stevens High School

  • Chelsea Huber – Ronald Reagan High School

  • Sofia Ramirez – Health Careers High School

  • Kirra Vrzal – Sonia Sotomayor High School

  • Danielle Yarbrough – Virginia Allred Stacey Junior-Senior High School

“Providing resources for our next generation of leaders to succeed is important to us, and Soarion Credit Union is proud to support students in pursuit of their higher education goals,” said Ric Ledezma, President and CEO of SC Union. “We look forward to seeing these five San Antonio students soar toward a bright future.”

The scholarship program is awarded annually to students pursuing studies at accredited public or private colleges, universities, community colleges, or technical schools. Applicants are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, community service, and financial need. To be eligible, students must be members of Soarion Credit Union or dependents of members in good standing.

This scholarship program was created in collaboration with the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation, reinforcing Soarion’s commitment to education and youth empowerment in the local community.
