About the Performers:
Michael Salgado
Latin Grammy Award winner Michael Salgado is a Tejano singer/accordionist who gained prominence in the mid-’90s by looking back to the norteño sound influenced by Ramon Ayala, and introduced the style to the younger generation. He organized his backing band – brothers Ernie and James on guitar and drums, respectively, with bass player Joe Tanguma – when he was just 19, and begin hitting the Latin music charts in 1995 with his single “Cruz de Madera.” Salgado’s 1996 album En Concierto introduced his most popular single extant, the Top 20 hit “Sin Ella.”
Kingz One
Kingz One (K1) is a new sensation in Latin/Rap/Hip-Hop music, fusing rhythms and cultures in their music as much as in their looks and performances. Originally from Illinois, the band has the boy-next-door appeal and a powerful musical formula that mixes Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, Vallenato, Salsa and Reggaeton. Their style transcends the usual thump-thump of pop songs to deliver what is not only the new sound of Mexican-American mainstream music but the entire Latino culture. K1 is the new name for a group of young and passionate performers who had their first taste of fame and popularity as members of million-selling, award-winning Kumbia Kings.
Sunny Sauceda y Todo Eso
Tejano Music Awards’ 2019 entertainer of the year and two-time Latin Grammy Award winner Sunny Sauceda y Todo Eso perform Tejano, Conjunto, Country, and Rock. Sauceda plays the accordion and is known as the most energetic accordion player in the world. They entertain diverse audiences with new and old sounds, high energized stage presence, and stellar musicianship.
