Mermaid March in San Marcos, Texas

Mondays are for mermaids even when you’re not by the water. We took advantage of the gorgeous weather and went on the Mermaid March in San Marcos, Texas.

The Mermaid March is a public art project that celebrates the art, culture and natural beauty of San Marcos, Texas. The mermaid forms were created by the Fountain People and painted by artists selected by the Arts Commission.

Each Mermaid is uniquely themed, stands about 7 feet tall, has a story behind it, and placed in a different spot throughout the city. We were able to find 9 of the 10 mermaids; the 10th was moved to a temporary location due to construction.

Pictures don’t do these beauties justice but, we had to share the pictures we took. For more information about the mermaids and where they are each located, click HERE.
