Marie Murillo Builds a Legacy of Leadership and Community

For Marie Murillo, entrepreneurship is about building a strong future while staying connected to the people, values, and community that shaped her.

A proud Southside San Antonio native, Murillo is cofounder and Director of Communications at 4A Logistics, where she helps oversee the business’s financial and administrative side. Her responsibilities include budgeting, financial strategy, and internal operations that help keep the company moving forward.

Murillo’s story is also one of family, perseverance, and the example set by the women who came before her. Her family is from a rural area of Zacatecas, Mexico, and she was raised by a single mother who had an elementary-level education but an extraordinary work ethic.

Today, Murillo is a mother of four and has been married to her best friend for more than two decades. The lessons she learned growing up continue to shape how she approaches business, family, and service.

Supporting Women and the Community

Giving back is an important part of Murillo’s life, particularly when it comes to supporting women and families. She is actively involved with Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS), supporting its work to empower and protect those experiencing family violence.

Her future goals include becoming more involved with organizations that mentor women and help them navigate entrepreneurship. For Murillo, sharing knowledge and creating connections can help more women feel prepared to pursue their own professional and business goals.

Her entrepreneurial journey is continuing to evolve as well. Driven by a desire to connect with people, she recently expanded into real estate, adding another chapter to a career that has included business ownership and manufacturing sales.

And that earlier career left her with an unexpected skill.

“Before running a business, I worked in manufacturing sales and could name just about every type of plastic,” Murillo shared.

Outside of work, she is an avid reader and loves to travel. One of her favorite quotes comes from Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist: “And when you want something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it.”

From her Southside upbringing to entrepreneurship, community involvement, and her commitment to helping other women succeed, Marie Murillo is building a legacy centered on family, hard work, growth, and giving back.
