Live From the Southside Magazine and KSAT have launched a content-sharing partnership in an effort to boost the Southside’s community voices and news coverage. As part of this partnership, KSAT.com will publish certain articles from Live From the Southside Magazine to highlight Southside stories about community, food, history, interesting people, interesting places, businesses, and things to do. The first article was published on December 11, 2020, titled- “Best Reasons to Visit Each of the San Antonio Missions.”
Speaking about the partnership on KSAT.com, April Monterrosa, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, said, “This partnership is going to be so great for my Southside community! It’s also overwhelming to see my childhood dream come to life and being the first Latina to launch a publication in my own Southside community.” Also speaking about the partnership, KSAT-12 News Director Bernice Kearney said, “Our partnership with Southside Magazine gives us a new way to reach folks who live, work, and raise their families on the south side of San Antonio. There is a cultural vibrancy and an economic renaissance that we look forward to exploring more fully, with the assistance and in collaboration with Southside Magazine.”
ABOUT LIVE FROM THE SOUTHSIDE MAGAZINE
April Monterrosa founded Live From the Southside in February of 2019 as a blog and newsletter. Live From the Southside Magazine is now a “family-friendly informational magazine that helps San Antonio residents and visitors find things to do in the Southside of San Antonio, surrounding communities, and throughout Texas.” It is a monthly magazine that showcases Southside culture and food, along with personal stories, and businesses. There have been 6 issues of the magazine, so far, premiering with the August 2020 issue. The magazine is available in a glossy print edition or Kindle edition through Amazon.

CEO and Editor in Chief of Live From The Southside April Monterrosa is a San Antonio, Texas native born and raised on the South side. She is a published author who has been featured in Good Housekeeping and SAXtreme Magazine.
