A Brief History of Las Palmas Branch Library
The Las Palmas Branch Library first opened on March 23, 1969, on land donated by the Las Palmas Corporation. A voter-approved bond in 1989 funded the construction of the current facility, which opened in April 1994. The library previously underwent a renovation in 2009 and temporarily relocated services to Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) during the latest renovation, from March 2023 to November 10, 2025.
With its expanded spaces, modernized facilities, and renewed resources, the Las Palmas Branch Library is ready to continue its mission of connecting the community to knowledge, technology, and cultural programs.
