For more than a century, Girl Scouts have helped girls build confidence, leadership, and real-world business skills through hands-on learning experiences. This February, those skills will be showcased as Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas participate as vendors at the Women of Texas Expo.
The Expo will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa, bringing together more than 200 vendors and an expected 2,000 attendees for a day focused on connection, inspiration, and opportunity.
Participation in the Expo highlights Girl Scouts’ long-standing focus on entrepreneurship, one of the organization’s four core program pillars. Best known for its nationally recognized cookie program, Girl Scouts has helped generations of girls learn goal-setting, budgeting, marketing, and customer service, making it one of the country’s longest-running youth entrepreneurship programs.

“We are one of the original entrepreneurs,” said Angie Salinas, Major General (Ret.) and CEO of Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas. “Our girls aren’t just selling cookies. They’re learning how to set goals, manage money, communicate with others, and follow through.”
At the Expo, Girl Scouts will operate their booth like any other vendor, engaging with customers and practicing the same skills required of small-business owners. Proceeds from cookie sales directly support local troops, leadership programs, community projects, and opportunities for girls across Southwest Texas.
Event organizers say the partnership reflects the Expo’s mission to celebrate women in business while inspiring the next generation.
“Welcoming the Girl Scouts aligns perfectly with what this event represents,” said Susan Obregon, co-founder of the Women of Texas Expo. “It’s about learning, mentorship, and showing young girls what’s possible.”
