On Saturday, December 6, Councilmember Teri Castillo welcomed more than 300 residents to a festive “Noche en el Barrio” Holiday Pachanga at the San Martin de Porres Catholic Church Hall. The annual celebration once again brought neighbors together for an afternoon filled with community, connection, and holiday cheer.
Families enjoyed a variety of fun and engaging activities throughout the event, including a children’s pajama contest, an adult ugly sweater contest, gingerbread house decorating, arts and crafts, a photo booth, and pictures with Santa. Holiday music set the tone as children eagerly lined up to take their turn at the piñata. The celebration also featured a vibrant lowrider showcase, dancing, raffles, and plenty of delicious food for all to enjoy.
Councilmember Castillo expressed deep gratitude for the strong turnout and highlighted the community spirit that filled the room. “Noche en el Barrio is a special holiday event meant to bring families together, celebrate community, and create joyful memories this season, all while uplifting the beautiful culture we share in District 5,” said Castillo. “We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and to all of our partners who helped make this event a success.”
The District 5 Office extends its heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, and partners who helped bring this year’s celebration to life, with special appreciation to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for generously hosting the event. District 5 looks forward to continuing this beloved tradition and celebrating the holiday season with the community for years to come.
