The Chancla Academy is proud to announce its inaugural event, the Chancla Academy Rock Fest, on Saturday, April 8th, 2023. The festival will occur at the Alamo Beer Company at 202 Lamar Street, San Antonio, TX 78202. The festival is free and open to the public from 12 pm – 12 am.
The Chancla Academy Rock Fest celebrates the San Antonio rock scene, featuring local talent and small business owners. The festival will have two stages of performances, showcasing 15 local bands and artists and 45 vendors for local shopping under the Hays Street Bridge.
Headlining the stages are Upon a Burning Body, Aztec Eagles, Eyes Like Fire, and other talented acts such as PRSNT, Roshii, Makaria, Skum, and Andy Gnosis. The festival’s second stage will feature Above My Enemy, 40% Dolomite, Any Color You Like, Forever for Now, Perfect Season, Grieved, Silent Minority, The Broken Page, and Cauterized in Balance.
The Chancla Academy Rock Fest aims to embrace the community, stimulate the local economy, and support local businesses through vendor relationships. The festival will also feature five youth bands, encouraging young musicians to pursue their dreams and continue playing music.
“We hope this festival will inspire the youth to continue their passion for music and showcase their talents,” said Joe Coronado, founder of Chancla Academy. “We want people to discover new music, feel heard and seen by others, and believe that there is much more out there for the San Antonio community.”
