The “Ancira Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Live Music Series at The County Line” that benefits the San Antonio Food Bank is back for its 21st year on Friday nights, beginning March 18th with Gunnar Latham singing ”modern cowboy songs.” The 2022 live music series will run March 18 through June 10, 2022.
As in past years, the concerts occur on the patio of The County Line Bar-B-Q restaurant at 4334 Hyatt Place Drive (on IH-10 West between the Wurzbach and Huebner Road exits, near the Colonnade). Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and run until 9 p.m.
“This concert series is truly back by popular demand,” says Mike Crenwelge, General Manager of the IH-10 County Line location since 1980. “When mask mandates were removed, we started getting a stream of phone calls and messages asking us to start it up. At County Line, we believe the customer is always right!”
As always, this live music series is free. However, all who attend are asked to make a food or monetary donation to the San Antonio Food Bank. In 2015, the County Line was recognized by the S.A. Food Bank for raising enough food to feed over 1 million people since the inception of the music series in 2001. In 2017 alone, it brought in a record-breaking number of donations which equaled 80,609 lbs. of food to feed the hungry. In 2019, donations made at the music series provided 35,000 meals.
“Good music, great barbeque, and a way to give back – the County Line Music Series has it all. We couldn’t be happier that it’s back after a pandemic hiatus,” says Eric S. Cooper, President & CEO, San Antonio Food Bank.
Free parking is available at Hallmark College, less than one block away on IH-10 access road. Concerts are held rain or shine and will be moved inside if inclement weather. County Line will offer food service outside for concert goers. Happy hour will run before the concert, from 3 to 7 p.m. on concert days.
