Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center Unveiled Poster & Lineup for 44th Tejano Conjunto Festival 2026

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center officially unveiled the poster and 2026 musical lineup for the 44th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival in San Antonio. This was done during a press conference held on February 26, 2026. The event took place at the Guadalupe Latino Bookstore’s Progreso Community Gallery on the Westside.

As the country’s longest-running Conjunto festival, the Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio continued its legacy. Specifically, it honored one of Texas’s most beloved musical traditions.

The unveiling showcased the winning artwork selected from a competitive poster contest. The contest invited visual artists, graphic designers, and art students to submit entries across Middle School, High School, College, and Open/Professional categories. Furthermore, poster submissions were displayed throughout the gallery during the announcement. This highlighted the depth of creative talent inspired by conjunto music and cultural heritage.

The grand prize winner received $2,000, and the selected artwork became the official marketing image for the 2026 festival. The winning design appeared across promotional materials. These included the festival program Tonantzin, event listings, website features, social media campaigns, posters, T-shirts, and additional merchandise tied to the annual celebration.

Winners were joined by their teachers and families, underscoring the intergenerational spirit that defines both the festival and the broader cultural arts community.

Speakers included Executive Director Cristina Ballí, Festival Founder and longtime advisor Juan Tejeda, and Festival Coordinator Mariaelena Villarreal. Each reflected on the importance of sustaining conjunto music as a living tradition. They also emphasized the need to continue creating opportunities for artists, youth, and audiences to engage with the genre.

The festival, internationally recognized as the most influential event dedicated to conjunto music, has consistently provided a stage for the very best musicians. These artists represent the many regional styles found across Texas.

The 44th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival was scheduled for May 14–17, 2026, in San Antonio. The four-day celebration was set to once again bring together legendary performers, emerging artists, and devoted fans. In this way, attendees could experience the vibrant sounds of accordion-driven conjunto music.

More than a music festival, the event continued to serve as a cultural preservation movement. It honored tradition while ensuring its future through education, performance, and artistic expression.
