Happening on the last day of FIESTA, May 4, 2025, from 10 AM to 3 PM at Plaza de Sueños (1811 S. Laredo St., 78207)—this is the ultimate tribute to all things Chamoy. Sweet, spicy, tangy, and bold—Chamoy is more than a flavor; it’s a lifestyle in San Antonio, and this event is where it all comes together.
The Ultimate Chamoy Showdown
Chamoy vendors from across the city will bring their A-game to compete for the title of Chamoy Champion, and these creations will blow your tastebuds away. Expect mouthwatering Chamoy treats on snacks, drinks, candy, fruit, and more. From traditional favorites to bold new twists, this is the flavor battle of the year.

Meet the Woman Behind the Flavor Fiesta: Janie McClinchie
The Chamoy Challenge is the brainchild of Janie McClinchie, owner and operator of Que Retro Arts. Originally from Laredo, TX, and a longtime local artist and vendor in San Antonio, Janie has spent over a decade uplifting the creative community.
From founding Frida Fest to curating for the Arthritis Association and Basila Frocks Quarterly Art Shows, Janie continues to celebrate San Antonio’s cultura with heart and passion. The Chamoy Challenge (and its sweet cousin, the Concha Throwdown) are extensions of her love for community, culture, and food.
