Youth Author Arianna Ruby Cortez Debuts at Southside Book Fair

At just 15 years old, Arianna Ruby Cortez is already stepping into the literary world as a youth author, making her official debut at this year’s Southside Book Fair.

A student in the East Central Independent School District, Arianna represents a new generation of young voices using storytelling to inspire and connect. She balances a full academic and extracurricular schedule, participating in the dance team, HOSA, and college-prep courses through the P-Tech program, while also pursuing her passion for writing. She also attends Live the Life Church, where her faith and values continue to shape her perspective and purpose.

She is no stranger to the writing or entrepreneurial world. Arianna has previously been published in Live From The Southside Magazine and has co-owned a craft and jewelry business with her sister, Bella, who is also a published author. Together, they represent a young generation of creatives who build, write, and lead with purpose.

Her journey into authorship began with something deeply personal. Inspired by her nephew and her love for caring for children, Arianna set out to create a story that would resonate with young readers. The result is a heartfelt book centered around Amelia the Fairy, a character inspired by her stepmom, whose strength, independence, and resilience helped shape the story’s message.

As a youth author, Arianna brings a unique and authentic perspective to storytelling, one rooted in kindness, imagination, and self-acceptance. Through her book, she hopes to remind children that being small does not make you weak, but rather makes you unique. Her goal is to encourage young readers to embrace who they are, stay true to themselves, and always choose kindness.

Her debut will take place at the 5th Annual Southside Book Fair, a free, family-friendly event that brings together readers, writers, and the community for a celebration of literacy and local talent. The event will be held on Sunday, March 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Texas Sugar Daddies Event Venue, located at 1135 Mission Road in San Antonio.

Arianna’s presence at the fair highlights the importance of uplifting youth voices and creating spaces where young authors can shine alongside established writers. It’s a reminder that storytelling has no age limit, only the courage to begin. She is not just a student or a creator; she is part of the future of storytelling, and her journey as a youth author is only just getting started.
