The Flamingo Club was excited to welcome the community to its annual Award Ceremony on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Mission Del Lago Golf Course, located at 1250 Mission Grande, San Antonio, TX 78221. The celebration took place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with the formal ceremony beginning at 10:00 a.m.
This special event honored the fourth class of Flamingo Club members, comprising 17 young golfers ages 5–12 from across the Greater San Antonio area. Each inductee received a brand-new set of custom golf clubs, apparel, golf accessories, a 2026 On Par Golf Tour membership, and access to local golf courses as part of their Flamingo Club benefits.
With the induction of this new group, the Flamingo Club reached an exciting milestone: 105 junior golfers had now been welcomed into the program, with more than $50,000 in custom equipment, accessories, Alamo City Golf Trail access, and On Par Golf Tour privileges provided to young athletes.
The ceremony was not only a recognition of achievement but a celebration of opportunity, growth, and the future of youth golf in San Antonio. Families, supporters, and community members came together to support these talented young golfers as they embarked on the next step of their journey.
The Flamingo Club is a San Antonio–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to youth golf by providing equipment, instruction, and course opportunities for young athletes across the city. Founded by San Antonio native and Harlandale High School graduate Ray Garza, the organization is rooted in his lifelong passion for golf, education, and community service. Ray earned a Business Management degree on a golf scholarship from Texas Lutheran University, where he won the American Southwest Conference Championship and was named TLU Athlete of the Year in 2002. After competing on professional mini tours, he transitioned into education and later founded On Par Golf in 2018 to make quality instruction accessible to all. Through On Par Golf, its community partnerships, and its support of ventures, Ray continues to champion equal opportunity in golf and inspire youth to dream big and reach their full potential.
