Join us on December 14, 2024, for a heartwarming event that celebrates the achievements and potential of San Antonio’s young golfers. Hosted at the beautiful Mission Del Lago Golf Course, located at 1250 Mission Grande, San Antonio, TX, the Flamingo Club Award Celebration Ceremony will recognize 31 talented young players, ages 6 to 12, as part of the second class of 2024 inductees. Each of these dedicated youth will receive a custom-fitted set of golf clubs, apparel, accessories, and a membership that opens doors to local golf courses, helping ensure that the equipment cost will never stand in the way of their love for the game.
Event Agenda:
- 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.: Registration & Breakfast
- 10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Award Ceremony
- 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 noon: Golf Clinic
Our mission at the Flamingo Club is simple yet powerful: remove the financial barriers to golf for young enthusiasts in the Greater San Antonio area. By providing brand-new golf equipment, accessories, and apparel, as well as access to local golf courses, we’re ensuring that every young golfer can take a swing at their dreams without worrying about the cost.
About the Flamingo Club
Established in 2024, the Flamingo Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to empower the youth of Greater San Antonio through golf. Our program invites children ages 6 to 12 with a passion for golf to apply year-round, and new members are celebrated at ceremonies held every June and December. Thanks to the support of generous sponsors and community members, the Flamingo Club continues to grow, helping young golfers take on the greens with confidence.

About Ray Garza, Founder and President
Ray Garza, a proud Southside San Antonio native, graduated from Harlandale High School, where he was a celebrated multi-sport athlete. Earning a golf scholarship, Ray attended Texas Lutheran University, where he became the American Southwest Conference Champion and TLU Athlete of the Year in 2002. His journey through collegiate and professional golf eventually led him back to Harlandale ISD as an educator and head golf coach. In 2018, Ray launched On Par Golf, which provides quality golf instruction throughout San Antonio and supports youth golf initiatives, including the opening of Rockin’ G’ Grill and OnParGolfApparel.com, where proceeds help fund the Flamingo Club.
In June 2024, Ray and the Flamingo Club awarded over $17,000 in equipment and apparel to its inaugural class, making a lasting impact on San Antonio’s young golfers. Ray’s unwavering dedication to his community and belief in equal opportunities through golf continues to drive his work.
