Connie Leon is the Program Director of Continuing Education for NW Colleges at Houston Community College. Since 2021, she has developed programs that help professionals and skilled workers expand their careers through technical and soft skills training, community initiatives, and entrepreneurial mindset development.
Previously, as a Small Business Program Coordinator, she supported the local Creative/Maker Small Business Community through education, community-building, and research on entrepreneurship and economic growth. Her efforts played a key role in rebuilding the Small Business Maker Ecosystem post-COVID, boosting local economic development.
She is also the Founder of Houston Latina Collaborative, a network of over 830 members and 40K+ followers that empowers Latina entrepreneurs, content creators, and advocates for social and political impact. The group, now in its 10th year, remains the only one of its kind in Houston.
Beyond her professional work, Connie is a speaker, podcast host, and consultant. She runs The Creativity Well, helping executives, entrepreneurs, and organizations with content development, career coaching, business strategy, and pitching techniques. Her podcasts, Taking Back Your Power and 50 First Dates Houston, explore personal growth, relationships, and dating.
A first-generation Latina, Connie holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston. She is passionate about holistic healing, cultural awareness, and spending time outdoors. A proud mom of two, she supports her children’s diverse talents—from STEM and athletics to music and fashion design.
Connie has deep ties to Houston and the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated from Mission High School before attending UH. She continues to be a dynamic force in education, business, and community empowerment.
