Tejano NextGen Fund Launches to Support Student Musicians and Preserve Cultural Legacy

Tejano NextGen Fund, Inc. has officially launched with a clear and powerful purpose. Its mission is to support and invest in the next generation of Tejano and Conjunto musicians through educational scholarships and cultural preservation.

Created as a nonprofit organization rooted in transparency and long-term impact, Tejano NextGen Fund is building a community-supported foundation. This foundation is focused on sustaining the music that has shaped identity, celebration, and connection for generations. Moreover, Tejano and Conjunto music carry more than rhythm — they carry history, pride, and storytelling. This tradition lives on stages, in schools, and within families across Texas and beyond.

The organization’s mission is to support and invest in high school senior student musicians through scholarships while protecting and preserving the cultural legacy of these genres. By strengthening educational opportunities, the Fund aims to ensure that the future of Tejano and Conjunto music remains vibrant. In addition, the music is intended to remain accessible to future generations.

Founder and Executive Director Angelica Alcoser, a Tejano recording artist and business professional, created the Fund with sustainability and stewardship in mind. She shares:

“Tejano and Conjunto music carry more than rhythm — our genre carries history, identity, and community. It lives in our celebrations, our stages, and our shared experiences. The Tejano NextGen Fund was created to ensure this legacy continues through the next generation by offering scholarships to high school senior student musicians. We’re committed to transparency, integrity, and building something that lasts.”

Tejano NextGen Fund will provide educational scholarships, partner with schools and educators supporting Tejano and Conjunto programs, and operate with responsible financial reporting and governance. The organization is currently developing its first scholarship cycle and identifying eligible school programs. Details regarding eligibility requirements, application timelines, and submission materials will be announced soon.
