Sunflower Field
It’s been a beautiful early Friday afternoon on the Southwest side of San Antonio! We were able to take a sneak peek tour of the Sunflower Field at Traders Village. The 10-acred Texas-sized sunflower field is the largest in South Texas and opens this weekend. All the rain we’ve had came in handy as these beautiful blooms stand from 4 to 6 feet tall and also vary in size and color.
“Traders Village is celebrating 10 years of serving San Antonio this year; so, we want to do something unique and fun all year,” said Brian A. Billeck, Marketing Manager for Traders Village San Antonio. “We’ve had such fun and success with the Corny Maze (which is in its fourth year this year) that we thought we could do something in the spring — Sunflowers seemed like a great option. Our goal is to create traditions where memories are made. There is nothing like a good Sunflower Field to help that along. We‘ve already had people tell us all sorts of stories about Sunflowers and how it is a part of their lives. Heck, my son Damon Billeck passed away from Osteosarcoma Bone Cancer 03 April 18. The Sunflower is often associated with Sarcoma cancers. So, our Sunflower Field will even have great meaning for me.”
Hours
This will be the first year for the 10-Acre Sunflower Field and it includes a maze with 6 checkpoints to find to help you walk all around the field and make it fun. Saturday Traders Village will have live music from The Fleeks featuring Nolan Davis. The Sunflower Field will be open every weekend till they fade away (possibly the Fourth of July). Hours of operation are: Saturday – 10:00 am – 6:00 pm | Sunday – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Admission
Admission is ONLY $7.99 per person and for only $14.99 you can upgrade to the Combo which includes the Sunflower Field and an All-Day Ride wristband to our 11 theme-park rides inside Traders Village. Included in the admission price will be our Petting Zoo, games/activities and an inflatable slide (weather permitting). They’re also bringing out the Apple cannon to shoot at fun targets. (Apple Cannon fee: 5 apples for $5 or 10 apples for $8.)
Traders Village San Antonio is open EVERY weekend throughout the year. Admission is FREE with parking ONLY $5 per vehicle. The hours of operation are 9 am – 6 pm with peak shopping times 10 am – 5 pm.
