The San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT) is now accepting applications for its 2026 STEM Summer Camps, offering San Antonio-area students an exciting opportunity to explore future-focused careers through hands-on learning. Hosted at the Tech Port campus, SAMSAT’s summer camps have engaged thousands of students across the community by combining fun, creativity, and real-world skill building led by industry professionals.
SAMSAT’s week-long STEM camps are designed for students entering 3rd through 12th grades and introduce participants to San Antonio’s top and emerging industries. Camp topics include esports, music technology, eco-engineering, space exploration, aerospace, robotics, video game design, cybersecurity, and more. Each program emphasizes project-based learning, teamwork, and problem-solving, helping students build confidence and explore potential career pathways.
Families can choose from half-day or full-day camp options, making it easier to fit summer learning into busy schedules. Morning sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., afternoon sessions from 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and full-day camps include both sessions. Early drop-off is available up to 30 minutes. Half-day camps are $170 per week, and full-day camps are $340 per week. Campers are asked to bring their own lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided.
A major highlight of SAMSAT’s summer programming is its commitment to accessibility. Scholarships that waive all camp fees are available for qualifying families, ensuring that more students can participate regardless of financial circumstances. Scholarship awards begin March 31, and families are encouraged to apply early as space is limited.
The 2026 camp lineup offers a wide range of topics tailored to different age groups. Students entering 7th through 12th grades can explore advanced programs such as Design Ready, Smart City Innovators, Med Tech, Music Tech, EcoEngineering, Robotics: Sea Perch, Video Game Development, Esports as a Tech Career, Cyber Security, PC Build with an introduction to CompTIA concepts, and the Aerospace Rocket Camp. These camps focus on real-world applications, including building pitch decks, producing music, ethical hacking, IT fundamentals, and launching rockets.
For younger students entering 3rd through 6th grades, SAMSAT offers immersive introductory camps including Junior Engineering Camp, Robotics Apprentice Camp, and Aerospace Engineering Camp. These programs use hands-on activities such as LEGO builds, Minecraft challenges, robotics coding, and space-themed projects to introduce foundational STEM concepts in an engaging, age-appropriate way.
Weekly camps run from June 8 through July 31, with new themes offered each week. From graphic design and smart city innovation to medical technology, robotics, environmental engineering, esports, cybersecurity, and aerospace exploration, each week provides a unique learning experience that blends creativity with technical skills.
Applications for the 2026 SAMSAT STEM Summer Camps are now open, and spots fill quickly each year. Families interested in enrolling their students or applying for scholarships are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure placement. These camps offer a powerful way for students to spend their summer learning, creating, and preparing for the future while having fun in a supportive and innovative environment.
