Quit” Quit Drinkin’ Again: The Ranch Road Band’s Summer Anthem for 2025
South Texas’ very own The Ranch Road Band has just dropped what they’re calling their 2025 summer anthem — and it’s making waves far beyond the Lone Star State.
Titled “Quit” Quit Drinkin Again, this infectious new single is already climbing the charts and turning heads from Texas to Luxembourg.
The track is more than just a song — it’s a story of musical serendipity.
The Backstory: From Pandemic EP to Nashville Connection
In 2020, The Ranch Road Band released their debut EP during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. One standout track was a cover of “Modern Day Romance” — originally recorded by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and written by Kix Brooks (of Brooks & Dunn) and Dan Tyler, a revered Nashville songwriter.
What didn’t the band expect? Dan Tyler himself discovered their rendition on YouTube and personally reached out to praise their work. That moment sparked a creative partnership that would evolve into the foundation for the band’s next chapter.
Behind the Song: A Blend of Country & Americana Magic
“We were lucky enough to get a handful of songs from Dan,” shared Ryan Edwards, lead vocalist of Ranch Road. “I absorbed every one, but this particular track gave me Billy Currington and Joe Nichols vibes. I knew I had to do this one.”
The track was further elevated by an all-star team:
-
Kevin Bomar, a top-tier producer based in Houston, added his expert touch.
-
Viral TikToker and influencer Freeman Arthur contributed the track’s signature steel guitar.
-
And of course, Dan Tyler co-wrote the track alongside Dan Adams, delivering a lyrical punch that resonates with fans everywhere.
Tyler’s songwriting credits include Kenny Rogers, LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Rabbitt, and Keith Whitley — and now, proudly, The Ranch Road Band.
