Dia de los Muertos: Celebrando Las Misiones
Mission Marquee Plaza hosted Dia de los Muertos: Celebrando Las Misiones this past Saturday, November 2, 2019. The family friendly event began at Mission San Jose Granary with a viewing of over 10 Mission Descendant Families’ Ofrendas and followed with a Dance and Drum Procession.
The family-friendly Dia de los Muertos celebration continued at Mission Marquee Plaza with entertainment, pop up vendors, food trucks, and a showing of the film Coco (brought to you by the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office and H-E-B.) on the original jumbo screen.
Mission Marquee Plaza Farmers and Artisan Market
Mark your calendar for the Mission Marquee Plaza Farmers and Artisan Market on November 16, 2019 at 10AMto 2PM! The event is open to the public and guests will be able to shop from over 30 local vendors selling fresh produce and art.
The San Antonio Food Bank Mobile Mercado will be on-site hosting healthy cooking demos and nutrition education sessions. The market is free, pet-friendly, and cash, credit and lone star cards are accepted. (The markets are brought to you by the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office and the San Antonio Food Bank.)
In partnership with the YMCA, the Markets will offer FREE Community Fitness Classes. {All fitness level welcomed.) Classes are held at the Harvey E. Najim Family YMCA, and start at 9:00 a.m.
The City of San Antonio’s World Heritage Office’s goal is to celebrate, promote and connect the community. The Mission Marquee Plaza season begins in March with great opportunities throughout the year to join in on the fun! Bring your family and friends to share the experience of culture, art, education and fun on these historic grounds in our South side community.
