Luminaria has announced a new location and date for the 2026 Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival, bringing its free nighttime celebration of art to Downtown West and Zona Cultural on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The festival will transform Houston Street into a vibrant outdoor arts destination featuring live music, film, digital art, dance, poetry, theater, fine art, large-scale installations, food vendors, and local artists. Festival activities will take place at several downtown landmarks, including Centro’s Art Everywhere Project, Texas Public Radio, San Pedro Creek, Alameda Theater, Paseo on Houston, and the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures.
“We are excited to bring Luminaria to this historic and contemporary part of downtown,” said Executive Director Yadhira Lozano. “Luminaria artists will highlight this area with their creativity and love of San Antonio.”

Visitors can also experience permanent public art throughout the district, including works by Gordon Huether, Rubio, Diana Kersey, and Rhys Munro, creating an immersive backdrop for the evening’s performances and installations.
“Festivals and public art have a unique power to activate shared spaces, spark curiosity, bring people together, and remind us of the stories that shape our city,” said Krystal Jones, Director of the City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture.
Festival partners include Texas Public Radio, Centro/Art Everywhere Project, Goodwill San Antonio, Institute of Texan Cultures, San Antonio River Foundation, San Antonio River Authority, Majestic Theatre, and Weston Urban, all working together to showcase San Antonio’s thriving creative community.
The 2026 Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival is free and open to the public. Featured artists will be announced in September, with additional event details expected in the coming months.
