San Antonio City Councilmember Phyllis Viagran was recognized this week at the 22nd Annual Texas Energy Summit held at the State Capitol. She received the Outstanding Government Official Award in honor of her leadership in advancing energy resilience, collaboration, and sustainability across San Antonio communities.
The Texas Energy Summit brings together leaders from government, industry, and academia to discuss innovative strategies and solutions shaping the state’s energy future. Councilmember Viagran was celebrated for her commitment to “leading with conversation” by bringing together diverse stakeholders to address both the challenges and opportunities facing San Antonio.
“This award reflects the power of partnership,” said Councilmember Viagran. “When local governments, private and public industries, and communities work together, we create real progress. San Antonio thrives when we diversify how we produce and use energy, ensuring that every San Antonian benefits from a more resilient future.”
Her leadership has been instrumental in highlighting the connections between energy, water, health, and education, reinforcing that sustainability is part of a larger ecosystem that strengthens the city’s overall well-being.
