DreamWeek San Antonio: Education, Leadership, and Resilience

One of the key events discussed was Grant Ready, Grant Steady: From Proposal to Grant Compliance, an expert-led training designed to support nonprofit organizations. The event is hosted in partnership with Ascend Nonprofit & Business Solutions, Brooks Gives Back, and Live From The Southside. The session focuses on helping nonprofits stay organized, compliant, and confident after receiving grant funding.

The event takes place on Thursday, January 22, at noon on the Southside of San Antonio. It is a free DreamWeek San Antonio program.

Also highlighted was San Antonio Latina Legacy: Rooted in Resilience | Igniting Change, a DreamWeek evening event celebrating leadership, culture, and community impact. The gathering will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Arts, Nature, and Outdoor Experiences

For residents looking to connect with nature and creativity, Monterrosa shared details about Night Photography 101 with photographer Adolfo Rosas, hosted by the San Antonio River. This one-hour program teaches participants how to capture night-sky and low-light photography. In addition, it will be held January 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The location is Helton Nature Park in Floresville.

Outdoor enthusiasts can also take part in the Winter Bike Ride Series – Guided Bike Rides along the Mission Reach, hosted by the San Antonio River Authority. The guided ride is scheduled for January 28 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. It features a scenic route using electric B-Cycle bikes.

Ongoing Community Programs for All Ages

Monterrosa also highlighted the Seed Series at Confluence Park, an ongoing, family-friendly program held on the last Wednesday of each month from January through May. Community members are invited to drop in between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. They can help label, sort, and package native seeds for the Confluence Park Seed Library.

In addition, free Ballet Folklorico classes are currently being offered at Acequia Park through April 18. These classes are hosted by the San Antonio River Authority. The classes are available for multiple age groups, starting at age five, with limited spots available per group.
