The Pink Berets’ “Havana Nights” Gala Honors Community Leaders

As August ended, The Cana Ballroom in Boerne, Texas, transformed into a mesmerizing 1950s Havana for The Pink Berets’ 2nd Annual Fundraising Gala, “Havana Nights.” This glamorous event, which included an evening of dinner, dancing, live music, a cigar bar, an open bar, a live auction, and a raffle, exemplified the community’s dedication to supporting military and veteran causes.

A standout moment of the night was the presentation of the Small Business Award of the Year to April Monterrosa, the award-winning entrepreneur and publisher of Live from the Southside. Monterrosa, who has been on The Pink Berets’ board for nearly a decade, was honored for her unwavering support and advocacy for the organization’s mission. Her dedication to raising awareness and providing support highlights the hope and inspiration The Pink Berets bring to those they serve.

The gala also celebrated other distinguished award recipients:

  • Dr. Bernadine Martinez is an educator, certified John Maxwell trainer, military veteran, and leadership expert.
