Southside Businesses Champion Latina Leadership in San Antonio

San Antonio’s Southside is stepping up in a big way to support Latina leadership. Two local businesses, On Par Golf and Texas Sugar Daddies, are partnering with the Latina Leadership Institute (LLI) to power this year’s Class 10 fundraising projects—initiatives that help prepare Latinas for roles in elected office, boards, commissions, and community organizations.

LLI’s Class 10 cohort created six unique fundraising events across San Antonio to gain hands-on experience in event management, fundraising, and collaboration. The proceeds directly support scholarships, sustain programs, and invest in future Latina leaders.

Spotlight on Southside Businesses

On Par Golf

Founded in San Antonio by Ray Garza, On Par Golf is dedicated to helping individuals reach their full potential through training, professionalism, and confidence on the course. The On Par Golf Academy develops progressive golfers who embody excellence both in skill and sportsmanship.

With a vision to set a new standard in the golf community, On Par Golf stands apart as a premier sports institution focused on results and client success. Their commitment to growth and leadership makes them an ideal partner for LLI’s Latina Leaders Invitational: Swing for a Cause golf event.

Texas Sugar Daddies

Owned by Chris Espinoza and David Martinez, Texas Sugar Daddies started as a passion project that turned into a full-fledged Southside success story.

What began in 2017 as a home-based bakery quickly grew thanks to community love for their bold, sweet creations. After facing personal and pandemic-related setbacks in 2020, the duo re-launched with renewed energy, moving from their kitchens to a brick-and-mortar space. Today, Texas Sugar Daddies is known for their creativity, resilience, and one-of-a-kind flavors that bring San Antonio together.

This September, they’ll host La Flor de Lotería, a Selena-themed Lotería night with live music, blending culture, community, and fun—all while supporting Latina leadership.
