From a small town in South Texas to becoming a trailblazing creative force in San Antonio, Olivia Orona has built a career dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and inspiring through media, community, and meaningful storytelling.
Roots and Resilience
Born and raised in Gregory, Portland, Texas, Olivia now calls San Antonio home, a city where her personal journey and professional purpose have flourished.
“I currently reside in San Antonio, where I’ve built my life and career around uplifting others through creativity, community, and media,” she shares.
Empowering Through Media
Olivia is the founder of Tejanas in Media, a social media marketing agency specializing in content creation, management, and event curation. She also serves as the 
Marketing Director for Periodpalooza, a nonprofit providing period products to those in need.
In addition, she launched Amigas in Media, a space for women in business and media to connect, collaborate, and sharpen their skills.
“I’ve always been drawn to storytelling and building platforms for others to shine. My work is rooted in empowerment, representation, and support for local businesses,” Olivia explains.
A Leap of Faith
In 2022, Olivia made the bold decision to leave a leadership role in the hospitality industry to pursue entrepreneurship full-time.
“Joining the creative community in San Antonio helped me see a gap in how Latina voices and women-led businesses were represented. That realization sparked what would eventually become Tejanas in Media,” she recalls.
The transition came with challenges, including financial stress, imposter syndrome, and the demands of being a one-woman team.
“There were times I had to prove my value in spaces that weren’t built for people like me. But each obstacle helped shape me into the leader I am today,” Olivia says.
Milestones and Impact
Despite the challenges, Olivia’s journey has been marked by meaningful wins. She has helped local businesses grow their digital presence, hosted inclusive events, and built communities grounded in collaboration and empowerment.
One of her proudest achievements is the launch of Amigas in Media, a space where creativity and community thrive together.
“I’m most proud of the community I’ve built and how I lead with purpose. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with strategy, all while centering relationships and representation,” Olivia says.

At the core of Olivia’s work is a deep belief in the power of storytelling.
“I believe everyone has a story worth sharing, and I want to be the person who helps them tell it in a way that feels true to them.”
