Celebrate National Play Outside Day with free admission to Mitchell Lake! Stop by the Visitor Center to pick up a Nature Scavenger Hunt or a Mitchell Lake Nature Walk Fact Sheet, and enjoy a self-guided adventure. You’ll also take home tips on native plants that attract birds and pollinators.
? Guided Bird Tours
Sundays: August 3, 10, 17, 24 | 8:00 AM
Free for Members | $10 for Non-Members

Experience the diversity of birds across Mitchell Lake’s habitats with an expert guide. Tours cover both walking and driving sections, often spotting 30–50 bird species. Suitable for ages 15+, and tours can last up to 4 hours (leave when you wish).
Bring binoculars, water, closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray.
? 2nd Saturday Habitat Clean-Up

Help restore native habitat! Tasks may include trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, or planting native species. Training and materials provided.
Volunteers must be 12+ and accompanied by an adult if under 18.
