Looking for a fresh new look? Marathon Barbershop is opening September 17th and has you covered! The new barbershop is located on the Southeast side in Mission Crossing at 2902 Goliad Road, Suite 124, San Antonio, Texas, 78223 and will have their grand celebration from 12pm – 2pm.
Marathon Barbershop was founded in 2022 by Joseph Rodriguez (also known as “JR”). After years of working as a professional barber and cultivating his unique touch, JR had a vision and executed it after years of preparation and dedication. Rodriguez mentions that the name of his business comes from the idea that it doesn’t matter where you start as long as you finish.
“At Marathon we know that a cut and style is the source of the true power to confidence. Our goal is to give our clients the confidence and services they deserve. As a business, we want to make a impact on the Southside and show our love and skills. We are a family oriented barbershop and want our customers to feel like this is their second home and part of our family. Our barbers specialize in giving men and young men women quality hair cuts, fades, edge ups, straight razor shaves, beard and mustache trims, black mask, and facials,” mentions Rodriguez.
“JR” is originally from Corpus Christi and moved to San Antonio 10 years ago and it’s been his home ever since. Before he was a barber, he drove trucks for an oilfield company and decided he wanted to change his career. That’s when he found his love and passion in barbering. He worked at two other barber shops prior and was also in a management position.
After doing that for a couple of years, he decided to take the leap of faith and become a business owner. He opening up Marathon Barbershop with the mission to create opportunities for other barbers to bring change, style, and their unique talent to life.
