Live from the Southside is teaming up with San Antonio Ready to Work to help residents gain skills for higher-paying jobs. As the city’s premier training and employment program, Ready to Work provides education, career planning, and financial assistance to those looking to advance their careers. This collaboration aims to raise awareness, connect residents to valuable resources, and highlight success stories that inspire others to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.
What Ready to Work Offers
Ready to Work offers various services, including personalized career plans that align participants with high-demand jobs, free job training and education with costs covered up to a cap, and various support services such as childcare and transportation to remove barriers to success. Additionally, the program provides job readiness training to prepare individuals for interviews and employment assistance to help participants secure and maintain meaningful careers.
Who is Eligible?
Eligibility for the program includes being at least 18 years old, living within San Antonio city limits (or being military-connected in Bexar County), and being eligible to work in the U.S. Income requirements state that individuals must earn no more than 250% of the federal poverty guidelines, currently set at $39,125 for an individual or $80,375 for a household of four. Most importantly, applicants must be willing to commit to completing their training.
