Step into an intimate, one-hour conversation exploring the life, legacy, and lasting influence of blues pioneer Robert Johnson. Moderated by KRTU’s Bria Woods, the panel features acclaimed musicians the Peterson Brothers and Nicky Diamonds, alongside two-time Grammy-nominated musician and historian Colin Hancock. Held in the newly unveiled Studio Lounge at The Gunter Hotel, this listening-focused experience invites guests to arrive early for bar service before a candid discussion on the evolution of blues, its Texas roots, and its lasting impact today.

Join The Gunter Hotel in the lobby and Keystone Club for a special birthday celebration honoring blues legend Robert Johnson. The evening features a curated vinyl set of Robert Johnson and classic blues from Vinyl Ambassadors, Gibby Diaz and Nicholas Sabala, alongside signature cocktails, plus complimentary birthday cake and coffee while supplies last. The celebration continues with a live original poem by Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson, followed by a crowd-led rendition of “Happy Birthday” in tribute to Johnson’s enduring legacy.

Experience an evening of live music in one of San Antonio’s most iconic settings as the Gunter Studio Launch Concert celebrates a new chapter in the hotel’s musical legacy. Featuring performances by the Peterson Brothers, Nicky Diamonds, and Sue Foley, the night honors the roots of blues while spotlighting its modern voice. Held in the historic Crystal Ballroom, guests can choose from VIP cabaret seating ($75), theater-style seating ($55), or general admission standing room ($40) for a dynamic, up-close concert experience.

Join us for Zine Lab Monthly to learn about zines and the basics of creating your own self-published works! Craft and art supplies will be provided for use during the program, but you are also welcome to bring your own. A zine (pronounced ZEEN) is an independently published magazine or booklet. Using provided supplies, folks can create their own artistic mini books to express themselves and tell their own stories.
