Texas’ Largest Wiener Dog Sculpture Makes Its Debut in Buda

There’s a new reason to make a stop in Buda, Texas, especially if you love dogs and quirky roadside attractions. Known as the Wiener Dog Capital of Texas, Buda has unveiled a larger-than-life dachshund sculpture at Buda City Park, located at 204 San Antonio St., Buda, TX 78610.

Measuring 19 feet long and 10 feet tall, the giant wiener dog playfully celebrates the city’s long-standing love of dachshunds. It’s also a new photo opportunity for families, travelers, and anyone exploring Central Texas.

The Buda Economic Development Corporation gifted the sculpture to the community to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The installation also honors Buda’s popular Wiener Dog Races, which will mark their 30th anniversary in 2027.

For San Antonio travelers planning a Central Texas road trip, the new sculpture offers a fun reason to add Buda to the itinerary. Stop by Buda City Park, snap a photo with the giant dachshund, and explore more of what the city offers.
