The Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office has earned the highest level of recognition from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles for its performance, efficiency, and commitment to customer service.
Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector Albert Uresti announced that the office’s Motor Vehicle Department received the Gold Level Performance Quality Recognition Program Award from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. The office received the recognition at the Bexar County Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday, August 18.
The Gold Level designation is the highest honor available through the TxDMV Performance Quality Recognition Program. Bexar County is one of only 12 counties in Texas to receive the Gold Performance Award.
“The Gold Level designation represents the highest level of achievement within the Performance Quality Recognition Program, and to be recognized as one of only twelve counties in Texas with a Gold Performance Award from the TxDMV is an honor and a reflection of our commitment to the Citizens of Bexar County,” Uresti said.
Recognizing Service and Efficiency in Bexar County
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles established the Performance Quality Recognition Program to recognize County Tax Assessor Collectors that demonstrate outstanding performance while complying with Texas laws and agency rules and providing a high level of customer service.
The voluntary program is available to all 254 Texas county tax assessor collectors and includes Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. Offices are evaluated in five areas: business processes, audit compliance, financial management, fraud prevention, and customer service excellence.
The program also recognizes offices for efficiency and accuracy in processing motor vehicle title and registration transactions.
“We are delighted at being recognized for our commitment to customer service and for our outstanding performance and efficiency in processing motor vehicle title and registration transactions,” Uresti said. “Our Office, including the staff members of the Motor Vehicle Department, strives to provide the best possible service to all our citizens, while at the same time adhering to a myriad of state laws and regulations.”
The Gold Level recognition highlights the work of the Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office and its Motor Vehicle Department in serving residents while meeting state standards for compliance, financial management, fraud prevention, and customer service.
