This summer, the San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) offers cool and fun opportunities for all ages with its Summer with SAPL series. Featuring programs, events, giveaways, and activities, there’s something for everyone at every SAPL location!
Kickoff Event at Central Library – Saturday, June 8, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Central Library for the Summer with SAPL kickoff. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, meet SAPL’s mascot, Smarty, and learn about summer programs. Free paletas for the first 250 guests!
Families can also enjoy Al’s Funhouse Bubble Party at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Library on the 3rd floor. With validation, the Central Library Garage offers free parking for up to three hours.

Free Books for Children
Children (0-12 years old) can pick out a new book at any SAPL location while supplies last.
Meet the Paletas – A new Paleta character with a reading list will be released each week through July 22. Collectible bookmarks are available weekly at library locations.
Share Your Goals – You can pick up a Paleta Goal Card at the library to share your summer goals. Then, display your card at your branch and contribute to the community reading display.
Programs Galore – Enjoy magicians, crafts, music, animal encounters, science, art, nature, history, and bubbles. There’s something every week at every location. Visit any location for a free printed program guide, or check out SAPL’s online summer guide.
Teen Summer – Teens can explore music, books, tech, art, and more with teen-led activities. Starting June 1, while supplies last, pick up a free summer t-shirt designed by teen artist Claire Meissner at any library location. Participate in daily activities at the Teen Library at Central Library, on the @210teenlibrary Discord server, and weekly at all locations. Earn volunteer hours, join the Teen Pride Party in June, and the Teen Summer Bash in July, and collect custom buttons at all library locations.

Summer Fun for Adults – Adults can get a free screen-printed tote at any SAPL location while supplies last. They can also participate in educational, informative, and entertaining programs and join SAPL’s 2024 Online Scavenger Hunt.
