Price Elementary School in the South San Antonio Independent School District (SSAISD) was recognized with a prestigious national honor, earning the School of Promise Award from the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET). The campus was one of only two schools nationwide to receive this distinction, highlighting its strong progress in elevating teaching practices and accelerating student achievement.
The recognition reflected the school’s commitment to investing in educators and creating meaningful outcomes for students. As part of the award, Price Elementary also received a $5,000 grant to support continued improvement efforts and strengthen its academic programs.
The celebration took place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Price Elementary, located at 245 Price Avenue in San Antonio. Local leaders, including Councilman Edward Mungia and Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores, joined the ceremony, along with NIET representatives and invited guests.
