Hope at Heart Foundation: A New Chapter of Hope and Healing

Ma Hila’s Heart Children’s Cancer Foundation is proud to announce its evolution and rebrand to Hope at Heart Foundation. This exciting transformation reflects the organization’s growth and expanded mission while staying true to its founding belief that there is hope at the heart of everything we do.

“While our name and logo are changing, our mission remains rooted in serving children and families in need,” said Jason Massiatte, President & CEO of Hope at Heart Foundation. “As we continue to grow, our mission has expanded to serve military families, provide support for colon cancer and sickle cell, and deliver hope to the most vulnerable members of our community.”

The new name, Hope at Heart, embodies both the emotional strength and compassionate purpose of the foundation. Hope represents the courage, strength, and renewed possibilities that families need most during their fight against illness, while At Heart reflects the compassion, love, and dedication that guide every partnership and program. Together, these words define the organization’s mission to bring hope, healing, and heart to families facing life-altering health challenges.

Hope at Heart Foundation continues to provide vital programs and services that make a lasting impact on families across San Antonio and beyond. The foundation provides emergency assistance with utilities, groceries, rent, and other essential needs to help families remain stable during challenging times. It also includes funeral assistance, ensuring compassion and financial support during moments of loss, and hosts joyful “Ring the Bell” celebrations, which mark milestones and bring happiness to children and families throughout the year. These efforts ensure that no family faces their challenges alone and that hope remains at the center of every service provided.

The foundation’s work is made possible through strong partnerships with leading hospitals, healthcare providers, and military organizations. Hope at Heart collaborates with University Hospital, Christus Children’s, Methodist Children’s Hospital, VITAS Healthcare, Fort Sam Houston, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to reach children, young adults, and military families battling cancer, colon cancer, and sickle cell disease. These collaborations help extend care, compassion, and resources to families facing some of life’s most difficult battles.

Since its founding, the organization has supported more than 1,700 individuals and families, marking a decade of compassionate service and community impact. The rebrand to Hope at Heart Foundation represents a new era of growth, community connection, and expanded outreach. With a renewed mission and stronger partnerships, the foundation is dedicated to helping even more families overcome health-related hardships—one act of hope at a time.
