REDWORK
by Laurie Ann Guerrero
Texas A&M-San Antonio Writer-in-Residence
Published by Autumn House Press this year, where it received the 2025 AHP Poetry Prize, REDWORK is comprised of lyric essays, poems, and embroidered textile art and explores the subversive work of women who wield sharp eyes, sharp tongues, and sharp needles that incite revolutions.
October 22nd at 7PM in the University Auditorium, Laurie Ann will read from her award-winning collection and hold a short discussion and Q&A, moderated by Anel Flores, author of Curtains of Rain. Immediately following, in the BLH Multipurpose room, enjoy food, drinks, music and an exhibit of eight embroidered redwork pieces Laurie Ann created for the book. At the reception, Poets Laureate, Jenny Browne, Andrea, “Vocab” Sanderson, and Eddie Vega will each share a poem in celebration.
Copies of REDWORK will be for sale by the university’s bookstore.
